A love story that carries for 45 years: Walter and Naiad Einsel’s humble and strong love is one to follow. Both renowned illustrators, they drew illustrations to each other as love letters. They met in 1952, marrying three weeks later. Anna Sui’s 2012 Fall collection takes the magical illustrations. Of all inspirations, ‘love’ leads the way in art, and Anna Sui is well associated with love and relationships.
The gentle bubbly shapes and benign blushes translate well into Anna Sui. Each garments silhouette celebrates the sexual revolution of the 60’s, when the Einsel’s love may have been the most full of youthful energy. No wonder there is something so nostalgic and gleeful when I see the drawings; it is hard not to be inspired.
