When I first discovered Kelly Smith, Australian fashion illustrator and blogger, she had just graduated from the Tasmanian School of Art in Australia and was a phenomenal freelance artist. Continuing to follow her blog, Birdy and Me, I have watched her evolve into an extremely sought after illustrator in the Australian fashion scene with her works also featured in various fashion labels around the UK.
With her precise portrait style illustrations she is able to recreate fashion in her own way while she incorporates some of the top faces and events being covered at the time such as Kate Moss’s wedding and Midnight in Paris to name a few she has done. In the Last couple years Kelly has been fortunate enough to have her work appear in the Australian publications of InStyle, Flare, Vogue Australia, as well as a few others. Kelly is newly represented by the UK agency Illustrations Ltd., so I believe its safe to say we will be seeing a lot more of her work around soon.
