If looks from haute couture fashion week, emerging fashion illustrators and D2G Apparel had a baby, what would it look like? I am happy to say that in a couple of weeks we will all have a few deliciously visual answers.
D2G Apparel has teamed up with some of our favorite up and coming fashion illustrators to create illustration inspired by the looks seen during haute couture fashion week. If you haven’t already, I have no doubt you will be adding these guys and gals to your list of favorites too. Illustrations will be printed on fashion-conscious tops and sold right here on D2GApparel.com. Curating of all outfits will be done by yours truly and the best part we will give you details on what inspired each illustration, and a little bit about the illustrator.
As you know, we love fashion illustration and have made it one of our goals to create projects that connect the fashion world with emerging illustrators resulting in beautiful products accessible to all of our readers and fashionista’s alike. To give you a little bit of an inside scoop, here are a few of the illustrators we are so happy to have on board:
My absolute favorite show this week was Jean Paul Gaultier, so androgynous and strong, I can even forgive him for drawing some inspiration from the greasy rocker, Pete Doherty. Raf Simon’s debut collection for Christian Dior was highly anticipated and wonderfully executed. There was nothing truly shocking about the collection however Simon’s accurately paid homage to the Christian Dior design Aesthetic, with exquisite tailoring, detailed embroidery and deep colors. We will be seeing Dior on a few actresses as they stroll down the red carpet.
How will the illustrators develop these looks into original compositions using their own style and techniques?
