Thriving contemporary fashion illustrators typically need to be educated in both traditional and digital techniques. Combining the two, artists often create fashion illustrations with their own personalized style and technique. Mustafa Soydan has made quite a name for himself as a fashion illustrator within recent years. He popped on my radar a while back when it seemed like every blogger was posting about his collage work (below). Soydan’s mixed media collages showcase his digital talents while communicating his understanding of modern fashion trends and the influence celebrities have as style icons in society.

Soydan recently released a video if him illustrating the Kate Moss Vogue Cover. Soydan uses a digital means of creating fashion illustration with traditional techniques. I love that this video shows how a modern illustrator can implement digital techniques while using traditional skills to communicate their ideas.
My oh my the detail! The video gives us a real time perspective of Soydan filling in just a piece of Moss’ hair. How many of you use tablets to execute your illustrations?
